Here are my favorites from the year:
- Crossfire series from Sylvia Day (this is what I read twice)
- Anything from Gillian Flynn
- Most of the Pretty Little Liars series (some books are better than others)
- The Body Movers series from Stephanie Bond
And on a more personal, real life level I enjoyed Born to Run and The Total Money Makeover
And here are the ones I wish I would've left on the shelf:
- Girls in White Dresses
- The Matchmaker Meets Her Match
- My Fair Lazy
- Friends Like Us
Overall, I read a lot of Sophie Kinsella and Jill Mansell this year. I stuck to mostly chick lit with a few curve balls thrown in. I'm not sure what next year will bring. Maybe more books on bettering myself? My to-read list stands at 35, but I'm always looking for new books to add to the list. Leave me a comment with any suggestions for 2014.
Wow, 64 books in one year is a lot of books!! I made a goal to read 24 last year and achieved it and this year I didn't set a goal, but will hit 17 books. I love Goodreads and I need to do a post like yours and add some of your faves to my Goodreads list.
ReplyDelete64 books is very impressive! I also revised my goal upwards around summertime when I was getting too close to hitting it. We have exactly one book in common this year - the E.L. James.
ReplyDeleteI had a goal of 70 books, and only finished my 70th today! So definitely a lofty goal for me, but I just made it! There's several books on your list I've read, but I think the only one I also read this year was The Bond Girl which was one I really enjoyed. Although it still didn't make my top 10 list.
